Evie-May Grigg

Youth Worker

I am a youth worker within the North region, delivering sessions within multiple settings and also carrying out administration jobs. Additionally, I create positive interactions and relationships with volunteers and delivery partners in line with the missions and values of the charity.

Why StreetDoctors?

I have always wanted to be part of a positive movement, inciting change and empowerment, especially to young individuals. StreetDoctors encompasses my values and executes them in multiple forms, whilst helping to tackle one of the issues at the forefront of society today. I believe in the ethos of the organisation, and cannot wait to be a part of future endeavours.

Background

I have completed my International Relations (BA) at the University of York, where I undertook a placement year working at an international NGO in Manchester, which I thoroughly enjoyed, inspiring me to dedicate my career to the charity sector. Alongside my degree I was also a team leader for NCS and a casual teaching assistant and cover teacher within secondary schools, working these roles developed my eagerness to work with and empower young individuals.

Outside of StreetDoctors

Outside of work I love to spend my time in the kitchen cooking, and if I do say so myself, I am pretty good too! Additionally, I spend a lot of my time trying out new food spots in and around Manchester trying to find the best spots. If I am not doing either of these, you can find me spending time with my dog or binge-watching a TV series!
