StreetDoctors Officially Recognised as Volunteer Team of the Year

StreetDoctors Officially Recognised as Volunteer Team of the Year at the Prestigious Third Sector Awards 2025

StreetDoctors has won the Volunteer Team of the Year award at the Third Sector Awards 2025, one of the most respected accolades in the not-for-profit sector.

For more than 20 years, the Third Sector Awards have celebrated individuals and organisations that transform lives and empower communities.

This year, StreetDoctors was shortlisted in two categories: Volunteer Team of the Year (Talent Award) and Small Charity, Big Achiever (Excellence Award).

These nominations followed a landmark year for the StreetDoctors team. In 2024, StreetDoctors’ set a new delivery record and trained over 16,500 young people across the UK in emergency first aid.

Being recognised as finalists in both categories was a major achievement in itself, and winning the Volunteer Team of the Year award is a testament to the dedication, passion, and impact of over 300 volunteers who make up the volunteer team. Together, they represent a national youth-led movement that equips young people with life-saving skills, helping them keep themselves and others safe, while becoming part of the solution to youth violence.

Through a peer-led model, StreetDoctors young healthcare volunteers act not only as educators and facilitators, but also as relatable role models, helping young people gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills to respond effectively in life-threatening situations.

Over the past two years, StreetDoctors has invested in transforming the volunteer experience; reshaping the volunteer journey, improved training pathways, strengthening volunteer management processes, and fostered a culture of positivity and accountability. This award recognises the incredible contribution of volunteers and support and guidance of the StreetDoctors staff team, who together make the life-saving work possible.

Martin Tilbury, CEO of StreetDoctors, said: “These awards highlight the fantastic progress we have made. It’s sometimes easy to forget that change, improvements, and vision take time and hard work – but this is yet another external recognition of what we have achieved together as a team. This marks three consecutive years of awards for StreetDoctors: GSK Impact Award Winner in 2023, Children & Young People Now Award Winner in 2024, and now the Third Sector Award in 2025. We are incredibly proud of this journey and all who have been part of it.”

This latest success reinforces StreetDoctors’ commitment to empowering young people to save lives, creating safer communities, and driving change through education and action.
