I was attracted to joining the StreetDoctors board because I am particularly keen on charities that ‘do what they say on the tin’. I was really impressed with its staff and volunteers and strongly believe that StreetDoctors people are its greatest asset.
Katie’s day job is leading on partnerships for Crime and Policing at the Home Office, a role that brings her into contact with many voluntary organisations, including those focused on combating serious violence.
She was drawn to joining the StreetDoctors board because she is particularly keen on charities that “do what they say on the tin.” She was deeply impressed by the organisation’s staff and volunteers and firmly believes that StreetDoctors’ people are its greatest asset.
Katie is also a trustee of the Noel Buxton Trust, where she focuses on penal grant giving, and she has been involved with a range of charities over the years. She was awarded an OBE for services to charity and the voluntary sector in the Queen’s 2016 Birthday Honours list.
