David has been Treasurer of StreetDoctors since 2018. He has always been in awe of the exceptional energy, enthusiasm, creative thinking, and commitment that the young volunteer health professionals and the staff team bring. They give other young people at risk of violence the skills and confidence to take action and save lives. He is especially proud of what they all achieved in the past year, during which StreetDoctors was commissioned to train a record number of vulnerable young people. David has personal experience of the randomness of street violence, though he notes it bears little comparison to the pervasive dangers of knife-related incidents that many young people now face daily.

In his corporate business career, David held many diverse leadership roles as the telecoms industry. He had exciting opportunities to work with talented colleagues to define strategies and implement them successfully. He helped develop new organisations, products, technology, markets, and customer-facing services, and was fortunate to lead award-winning teams in the UK and abroad. Later, he became Managing Director of a publicly funded provider of social and health care services and co-founded a business consultancy that has continued to prosper since his retirement in 2017.
