Sarah Bigler

National Operations Manager
As the National Operations Manager, I oversee StreetDoctors’ national delivery, ensuring our programmes are delivered consistently and to the highest standard. I work closely with partners, staff and volunteers to expand our reach, develop new projects and help the organisation grow its impact for young people across the UK.

Why StreetDoctors?

My whole career has been about empowerment of young people, helping them build the skills and confidence to improve their communities, stay safe, and be part of the solution. StreetDoctors does exactly that, and I love how it puts young people and volunteers at the heart of all its important work.. I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned from national programme delivery to a cause I care deeply about.

What’s your background?

I’ve spent over twelve years working on harm prevention programmes for young people, in the UK and the US. I started out delivering domestic violence prevention education to students across the US before moving into programme strategy and leadership roles at both large and small organisations in the UK. Most recently, I’ve been leading the design and delivery of a national healthy relationships programme at The Scouts, reaching hundreds of thousands of young people and tens of thousands of volunteers. I love the challenge of building programmes that genuinely work on the ground, not just on paper.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work I’m usually found baking, cycling, or spending time with my family, including chasing after my daughter and the new kitten who has already taken over the house.
