Fauziya Lahki

National Volunteer Coordinator

I am the first point of contact for our volunteers, and a liaison between them and the staff team. I am involved in training volunteers and ensuring our sessions run smoothly. I also work on our digital offer.

Why StreetDoctors?

I was intrigued by their innovative response to tackling violence affecting young people. By providing young people with life-saving skills, rather than scaremongering or lecturing, we are giving them back the power, and seeing them as the solution.

I first joined StreetDoctors as a volunteer in September 2018 while at university studying Paramedic Science. After graduating, I spent a year working as a paramedic, before joining StreetDoctors staff team in July 2020.

Outside of StreetDoctors

I run a community group in Hackney for senior citizens. It’s incredibly fun and rewarding, with activities like trips to the beach, yoga and cake competitions! I also love to read – I can’t put a book down until it’s finished, which means lots of late nights reading murder mysteries…
