I grew up in St.Albans, studied Law with French at Birmingham University, and started working life as a City Solicitor.
After 4 and a half long-houred years I escaped the law, travelled, and decided to pursue work which reflected my values. I now head up the Institute of Fundraising, the professional membership body for charity fundraisers. I spent the previous 13 years working on all things London (I’m a bit of a London fan) heading up London Cycling Campaign, London Voluntary Service Council and working for Ken Livingstone at the Greater London Authority.
I have been inspired by the work of StreetDoctors, especially the energy, enthusiasm and expertise of the medical volunteers, and am delighted now to be a Board member.
I cycle everywhere and relax through tennis, skiing, film, art and food and tweet from @piterk68.
